Another week, another book
While attending the eXperience Agile conference, I also won one of their giveaways! So a couple weeks ago my prize arrived: the book “Age of Agile” by Steve Denning.
I really enjoyed the book so I leave you with some notes.
Firstly, we live in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) world. How can we manage this?
The author proposes three laws of Agile management, here are some takeaways to go along:
- The Law of the Small Team
“Agile practitioners share a mindset that work should in principle be done in small autonomous cross-functional teams working in short cycles on relatively small tasks and getting continuous feedback from the ultimate customer or end user.”
- The Law of the Customer
“In truly Agile organisations, everyone is passionately obsessed with delivering more value to customers.”
- The Law of the Network
“Agile practitioners view the organisation as a fluid and transparent network of players that are collaborating towards a common goal of delighting customers”
Finally, “Becoming ‘agile’ is a continuing journey, not a finite accomplishment”.
A final thank you to eXperience Agile for the conference and the book!
