Hacktoberfest 2023 👨‍💻👾

🍂 While it’s still October, let’s talk about Hacktoberfest! (No, not Oktoberfest 😅)

Hacktoberfest is an annual event that aims to inspire developers, tech enthusiasts, and individuals from all backgrounds to collaborate and contribute to open-source projects.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to make a difference while honing your skills and being part of a global community.

This year, we’re celebrating the 10th edition of Hacktoberfest, and it’s been an incredible journey so far.

Personally, I’ve participated in Hacktoberfest in the past, focusing on documentation. Every effort counts and is valuable, even if for my own contributions to the event remind me of the “it ain’t much but it’s honest work” meme.

The beauty of Hacktoberfest is that it welcomes everyone, whether you’re an experienced software engineer, just starting your coding journey, or someone passionate about documentation. It’s a chance to learn, grow, and contribute to the open-source ecosystem.

This year, the first 50,000 participants who complete their first PR/MR (pull request/merge request) will have a tree planted on their behalf.

Also check out the Hacktoberfest forest here (still a lot of trees to plant!)
